We meet at 8:00 pm every Thursday at the biomedical library collaboration hub presentation space (Floor 6, Room 22-001). However, for some events, like field trips, we will meet at a different time and place, so make sure you join our GroupMe in order to stay up to date.

A: Open Origins’ mission is to remain accessible, so there’s no application to join! Just showing up to a general meeting or event allows you to become a general member!

Anyone can gain leadership in this club, whether it’s by working with the board on a cultural presentation or by joining a committee. There are a few requirements before joining a committee, but the opportunity is accessible to everyone and noncompetitive. Check our Committees page for more information.

A: There are three committees: Spirit, Fundraising, and Public Relations. Each one has different requirements to join as described here. The sign-up forms for each committee and further information can be found there as well.

Anyone can join regardless of prior cultural knowledge or experience! All we ask you to bring is curiosity and respect. You can become a general member through attending and signing into any Open Origins event.

Attendance is highly recommended but not mandatory for general members. However, meetings are valuable opportunities to learn about heritage and express yourself. Plus, we host tons of fun events you won’t want to miss!
